You know, I have my views about Religion, and one of them is that forcing your opinion on others is wrong. This thread is the other side of that opinion, but the application is the same.
It really takes me back to 8th grade, where a couple of my friends were hell-bent (pun fully intended
) on proving to some Christian kids that God did not exist. Constant battle, with no real purpose.
iLogin: when you grow up, you will realize that Religion serves its purpose. It is not about whether every event written in the Bible is true, or even actually HAPPENED, but the message that it conveys. It teaches people how to be optimistic, get through hard times, be good to one another, and avoid things that lead to being a sucky person in general. It also paints a picture of what happens when people lose these values, and jump on the bandwagon.
Try going to a WIDE varity of churches, talk to the people, and try to learn their views before you get on a Crusade against them. I have been to about 5 different Christian churches in my town (less than half of them in a town of 10k) and every one was vastly different. Some were great people, and some were scumbags. The Mormons have always been good to me and good people in general in my experience. I could go on about the Adventists (technically Christians), Catholics, and so on but it is not really my point.
I am Agonostic myself, which means (to me) that I try to stay open minded because there is no real proof either way. I do not need religion to fill a void in my life, or for whatever reason the majority of out world seeks it, but I can see it's purpose and leave well enough alone.
What DOES **** me off, is when religion is used as an excuse for manipulation, wars and acts of atrocity.

Except I just realized something....Atheism is the believe that there is no God, and Agnosticism is having no belief. So, to me, it makes more sense for an Atheist to have an agenda (proving God does not exist) than someone who is Agnostic.

I don't understand why people get all upset about religion, to me it shows that the person who is offended is insecure with their views and get offended due to insecurity.
If you're secure with your views, why get angry? I have my views and no one can change them, I never get offended no matter how wrong people tell me I am.
Insecurity = offense = war = beheadings

Its like telling a bum that he needs a bath..."but i dont believe in baths" he says, i.e. he is not offended.
Tell a normal person they need a bath (they take baths and know bathing is beneficial) and they will be offended.
You cant be offended by someone thinking that youre going to hell. If youre not involved in any religion, and you say the Bible is just "bla bla stupid myths stories" etc then wouldnt you think hell is a myth? heaven a myth? you believe you are going into the dirt and the worms will turn you into soil for the people of 2109 to use in their soil powered cars, which is technically what will happen to your physical body.
Oh god, that was soooo painful to watch... Not because of the religion part, but because the guy spoke at a 1st grade level and sounded like he weighed 600lbs and couldn't catch his breath as he spoke 1 word ever 11 seconds!
If you're a christian, aren't there different schools of thought? Do you have to believe in it word by word?

I would think they would just kick back and enjoy the ride lol
