Since I've gotten my STI, I've noticed a lot of weirdos approaching me about my car, has anyone else noticed this?

One guy simply walked up to me while I was sitting in my car and reading with the windows down at my school, asked me if my car was an 04 and I said that it was, then asked if he had one, and he just got into his friends car and stared at my car while they drove away (I promptly moved my car on the other side of campus and used the AP and put it on antitheft mode and took my AP and GPS in with me)

It happened again today while I was at the market. Some dude came up to me and was talking about how nice my car was. He then tried to hustle me to "repair" the 3 small rock chips on my hood. I had to tell him no a few times and get angry before he took off.

 

ive had a few weird encounters with people in the city

 

I park right in front of the window at work. I love watching people walk down the sidewalk and stop and look at it, and then I push the button and make it honk once and they freak out

 

I wish I could do that, I'm thinking of getting a paging alarm so I can come out guns ablazin. I live right on the border of Oakland, so the ghetto spills over some times.

 

lol i do that too. especially when they get too close

 

Happens all the time....though I like the "I brandish a weapon" option...very nice...
Honking the horns is fun though separates the men from the boys thats for sure...haha

 

I wish my car was that cool that people would notice it, but they dont......haha

some examples over the past FEW days-

In a quickie mart getting a drink-
"who's subaru is that outside that thing is freaking nice!"

Leaving Quiznos-
"dude is that your car?"
"yes"
"damn nice car man"

 

These are just car guys IMO...they are all talk, they have some Ferrari or Lamborghini on their desktop pic and like to stare too long at cars so everyone else sees them staring, making others think he is a car guy.

 

Yeah, I've had a few people come up and ask questions, especially back in like '01, '02 when WRX's were actually fresh and rare

But nobody was really weird about it either, just curious

 

i had this fast n the furious acura rsx guy approach me and talk to me about my wrx once, and he was saying crap like "you know the sti is only faster than the wrx because it has a higher redline right?" i tried to explain that the turbo ****s out and loses power before redline but he didn't seem to understand how that made sense.

 

i had a few people come up to me to talk. LoL most of the time they ask "is it fast?" or "how fast have u gone with that car?" and "is it turbo?".

other times just compliments.

 

^^speaking of "is it turbo?" has anyone ever had someone say "the wrx isn't turbo the sti is" when you are the one who owns a wrx LOL.

 

I heard someone say "is that the single turbo or twin turbo one?"
