my sister worked at a loony bin and she had some interesting stories... a lot of them dealing with poo. (interestingly enough, this place was right next door to my middle school.)

My fiance' does. She's worked in the jail farm and now with mental health running shot clinics and what not.

Honestly...she wants to finish her schooling and deliver babies. The job stresses her out which stresses us out. She doesn't hate dealing with the patients but there have been some scetchy moments...needle ******. One guy went off on her and had to be restrained. Couple suicides and suicide attempts. A murder. Etc.

You have to have a strong mind and a solid home life. It's not an easy profession. Have to have a soft spot in your heart but be able to seperate when you leave. Can NOT carry this job home with you.

Also....you need to be VERY careful to not get into the habit of overthinking yourself and self diagnoseing...etc.

I have a younger friend who majored in mental health.
First job was working at Janis rehab. Second job at a high school in down town san jose. That job broke her. She now wants to go back to school and get in to a different field.

I have to undergo psych evals every year for my job...I think it's all a crock of ****. There is definitely no science to it. Some of my colleagues are out of their minds, yet still pass their psych evals...lol.

i cannot stand people who are in psychology... they allllways over analyze things.. and if you get mad.. they explain WHY you're getting mad... or if you are sad they tell you why... **** that... god damn i would hate to be that kinda person...
sorry but the last thing i wanna hear about while i am mad.. is a studied fact as to why i am mad..
