Anyone seen Phantom of the Opera in SF?
My girlfriend wants to go see Phantom of the Opera at the Orpheum Theatre in SF.
Has anyone seen Phantom yet?
If so, where are the best seats?
If I sit on the main floor (Orchestra), and towards the back, will I be able to see the Chandelier fall?
I'm trying to figure out what tickets to avoid buying.
Thanks!

Saw it a long time ago when it was in its regular run at the Curran.
If you sit on the main floor underneath the mezzanine, the chandelier crash isn't as cool as sitting in front of the mezzanine.

I saw it at the Curran back in the day. Wonderful musical. We sat up high and I was very pleased with the view.
On the phantom tip, this is my uncle a few years ago...

Haha My gf and I were able to see it last Thurs. We sat in the Mez Row Z. Seats were pretty good! We could see everything on stage without any trouble but since we were under the balcony and all when it came down it kinda popped outa no where.
Also when things were lifted higher on stage etc there was time where we couldn't see anything.
But aside from each of these moments which barely bothered us we couldn't have had a better time.
EDIT: O, to answer your questin:
If its available I would probably try to either sit up real close like orchestra seats just go avoid the overhang of the balcony. OR... sit in the first few rows of the balcony.
