I spent last week in Montana, never paid any more than 2.50 up there, but places in NV were back up above 3.00 already.
And boy does the turbo motor appreciate nice cold air, I could run WOT uphill in 4th gear without the slightest hint of a knock

prices have been creeping up slowly for the past 2 months i think... first $2.45, then $2.51 then 2.59, then 2.63 & so on til where we are now...

see this is what they want.
they jacked the prices up to 3.20 a gallon so we'd appreciate prices like 2.80 a gallon when in all actually there is no way in hell we should be paying more than 2.50. Oil companies are making more money right now than they ever have. It's rediculous.
i feel sorry for european countries getting nailed worse than we do.
the issue for me is that in the u.s. especially in california where you pretty much have to commute to work to afford to live driving is a necessity and therefore gas is more like a utility. With big oil controbutions to politics it'll never happen while a republican is in office and not likely with a demo, but it should be regulated.
we're getting bent over and statements like yours really show that their plan is working on a LOT of people...most really.
But hell...I like driving. I like power. I like speed. I'll keep on driving...too bad they know that....fortunately my family has oil stock.....so I can fool myself into believing I'm putting money in my families pockets....then back into mine..haa.
Hurray, it's Ian!!

in that case I'd like the gas to go down to $1.09 like when I was a kid. I remember my mom would trip out when it went to like $1.11.
in THAT case, I bet some of you would like to see gas prices from when YOU guys were kids... sub dollar levels
then instead of complaining about a 10 cent increase, I can rightfully complain about a 2 dollar increase

In the 5 and a half years I've had my WRX, I've pumped in about 10,000 gallons, so that 10 cents adds up to about $1000.
But it isn't 10 cents, since 2001 gas has gone up closer to about $1-$1.50/gallon, so the sheer profit the oil companies have gotten off my gas purchases alone probably approaches $10,000.
