Anyone know anything about fight parking ticket in Berkeley
I got a parking ticket for parking in the yellow loading zone today. Anyone familiar with fighting parking tickets? Are there any stories that I might be able to use to be let off? I parked there for only a few minutes and it was a sat.
Anyone know anyone that might be in the berkeley law enforcement that might be able to help?

if its your first ticket you have received in berkeley they will give a "courtesy waiving" of it if you can think of a good enough excuse to "how you didnt see the yellow".
worked for me! just give them a call a talk to someone.

if you parked in a yellow zone during the wrong hours, then you deserve that ticket. don't even waste your time fighting it and take it as a lesson.
sucks, but i learned that the hard way too.

Yeah, i'm pertty sure that one out of every three tickets they hand out they have at least one person making up an excuse to try to get out of it.
Chances are your going to eat that ticket.

So if they say "why should we not give you this ticket?", what would you say back. its pretty straight forward. unless we dont know additional details. i heard a rumor that sometimes you dont even have to pay those little 20$ parking tickets. and they never contact you back.

I understand 95% of the time if you receive a parking ticket, you're probably not gonna get out of it. However the other 5% gets out of it, whatever reason it may be. Like Jon said above, I've experience where if it is the first offense, they are usually very good about it as well(my first time with city of berkeley). I got a ticket on UC campus, went for an in person review, although they didn't complete dismiss my ticket, they had me pay $12 instead of the $40 the ticket was originally for. You just gotta try, especially when its your first offense...
question...if you get a late fee on your credit card do you just pay it? "Well, if you didn't pay ontime, you deserve it and pay for the late fee." If you take that previous sentence as advice, I'm sorry to say, but you've got a lot more to learn about American corporations.

Pay your parking tickets or resolve the ticket, it'll haunt you if you don't. I knew someone who got locked up in jail for a couple of days for back parking tickets that he totally forgot about.
Well if they don't dismiss it, I'll of course pay, can't refuse it; but if you can get out of not paying or get a discount, wouldn't you try?
