My friend gave me a LG phone (G4020 locked on AT&T network, i use cingular) and i'd like to be able to use it before leaving for vegas tomorrow evening.

Just search on yahoo for sites with the codes... I've unlocked several nokias that way.

 

210 Clement St in San Francisco. Called sunshine wireless or smth they unlock for 10-15$. Call em (yellow pages) meybbe they can do over the phone.

 

thats cause nokia's dont require a data cable

 

yea I wish it was that easy, i've been searching for a while now...I already havea data cable on order, but I am leaving town tomorrow and i'll be gone by the time mail comes in tomorrow.

but the menu is not what I need to get into to unlock it, I need a "restriction code"

yeah zoeb my brother works at at&t and he said for the lg phones can be unlocked in sf for $15-$20

 

tell your brother to call corporate and get an unlock code for me

 

he said there isnt a code. it has to be connected to some usb kinna thing and unlocked with a computer

 

when I put in my cingular sim card it asks for a restriction code and according to the cell phone forums those codes can unlock the phone...ohh well...I have the cable on order, but its just got in right now, guess i'll have to wait till I get back
