Or is it too much variables to tell unless you take the current motor apart?
Too many variables to provide an accurate quote.
Year of your car?
Mods?
Miles on car?

If you need to re-align the mains then it is more cost efficient to replace the block on a Subaru.
Agreed.

Ticking? Rod knock does not sound like ticking. Could it be you need a valve adjustment? Between the ticking if the injectors firing and the loud valve train our cars sound ugly when idling.

So, I am getting more information on how much it would cost to get a short block and swap it, or rebuild the engine? Thanks for your concern !

If cost is too much, I'll just sell the car -.- But hey, at least someone here will be able to get the 5x100 gold BBS from me. haha
That sucks, Its good to price it all out I suppose and start saving just incase. I know your engine was running on some weird mods with a stock tune for a while so I can understand your concern.

Check out nasoic too. sometimes guys will sell their built blocks for a good deal and then you just have to pay for the install. if you do decide to rebuild i would definitely change to forged internals just incase you decide you want more power down the line.

A loose injector clip can cause some odd "ticking" as well.
