That's not that movie. The one you're thinking about is called "Coming 2 America". The restaurant in that movie is named McDowells hah.

Oh, I didn't know that it was closed down. That sux.

I vote for Feb. as well!
Yaaaay, all hail the replica Roscoe's destroyers!! Now that I think about it, the waitress @ the OG Roscoe's in LA did mention that the Oaktown joints waffles were subpar. I guess even people in the hood won't stand for knock-offs

Anyways, I'll probably check out the Pie Queen sooner than Feb. I don't eat fried chicken or even make it out to the East Bay all that often, but I have a craving. I'll let y'all know how it is.

All I know is, they better have sweet potato pie & Sock It to Me cake!

Peace

I had Roscoe's in Pasadena. I get some chicken, some mac n' cheese, and a waffle with a glass of Lisa's delight. Fantastic. I haven't been there in a year though. Then again, I live up here, so that's a given.

I've been to Roscoe's(oakland) once, in fact I used to live not to far from their. If your thinking about going their all I can say is...DONT DO IT! unless you like drinking 40oz bottles of pepto.
