do you think that...

the car is able to be fixed? I mean, I guess they could straighten the frame, because that damage is pretty bad, so I wonder how it would look, after that.

Sucks to be him.

later,
i.

You'd have to do a lot of damage to total a new car.

BTW, if these guys are paying $40+k for these cars, does the insurance pay the whole whack or just the $28k msrp (or whatever is is) ?

If the car is totaled the insurance will only cover the value of the car, which would be a little under the MSRP probably for a car that new. If he paid over MSRP, which he most likely did AND it was totaled, he's going to lose alot of money.

Damn, paper plates too. And not anywhere near totalled. The one that was rolled barely qualifies as totalled. The insurance pays the value of the car unless it's leased or you buy the gap insurance. Then it pays the greater of what you owe or the car's worth.

Unless he took out a loan for more than MSRP, in which case the lender will require gap coverage insurance...
I don't think they will total that car. I was rear ended in a 6 month old Civic and it was worse than that. If they wouldn't total a Civic, they aren't going to total that Evo...

Yeah, mine was called GAP insurance.
Basically when I bought the car the dealer offered this to me at a pretty reasonable price. Basically it says that whatever the difference of what I owe to what the car is worth will be covered by them. It's kind of a nice security blanket to have.

It looks to me like he spun and hit something. Look at it again and you will see what I mean. lol . ROOKIE! trying to pass as he did not wreck on his own. I would admit it to gain popularity LOL...if I wrecked ..

i bet the driver of the supposed suv saw him at the last second, and tried to serve out of the way and ended up clipping him on the left rear.
however, a SUV has a much higher clearance...i dont see how it could have hit the bumper at such a low level.

u know what im saying

i doubt any driver will push a evo hard enough to spin.
it comes with some nice tires...plus there is break in period.

but who knows.

I gotta disagree fellas. The altezza in question is about the right height for typical SUV bumpers. The rear fascia damage would come from the lower grill and/or tires. Also, the taillight is pushed almost straight back- after his skid he'd have had to hit whatever it was moving almost exactly backwards.
