Damn....hating on Oakland....

Oakland is HUUUUUUUGE and there's good and bad parts of it. Having lived there the past 6 years and growing up in and around Oakland for my entire life, I've never felt uncomfortable where I lived (Lake Merritt area). There's still a crapload of asshats, but that's happening everywhere.

Much love for Oakland.

No, pretty much all of Oakland and Berkeley is ****ty.

It's fun having 7 homicides over a weekend in one city.

I saw some nicer areas of Oakland off 580. However, Fruitvale, International, around those areas, are sketchy as well as chunks of East Oakland. Also, Telegraph doesn't look too good. Other than that, the rest look okay to me. That's just my opinion.

Sure, and I can understand that the news/media makes it out to be this horrible place. It's just amazing that the rest of the bay is scared of Oakland like it's a virus.

then you haven't seen all of oakland or berkeley. there are ghetto parts and there are nice parts. i work in downtown oakland and feel perfectly safe walking around at lunch.

there are some nice communities in the hills with amazing houses and views of the bay.

I love people talking crap about a town they know NOTHING about aside from what they hear/read on the news.

This thread is about "real ganstas" and the Hayward incident. Let's stay on topic now.
