I can't read the name on the ticket, badge #131, it was a motorcycle cop. It was on Beach St, almost right in front of Neptunes Kingdom. My GF thought it was pretty funny when I popped the hood a crowd gathered to check out my engine too, someone even took a picture.

Your car looks very nice man, but driving a car like that on the street is asking for trouble. Yes, I know that a lot of people do it every day, and they're risking getting popped for the same thing that you did. Unfortunately, that FMIC in the bumper is a dead giveaway.

The no front plate and tint are the most obvious things that you really can't complain about (I have 15% tint all the way around too). I highly disagree with cops popping peoples' hoods, stupid CA bull****. But the little obvious illegal things can keep you out of trouble with your very illegal things (at least illegal in CA). Good luck man.

werd. Don't give em a reason to stop you, don't get stopped. Every time I've been pulled over, I was breaking the law one way or another. So I learned and now the cars appearance stays legal.

front plate = yes
front tint = no

Hate to tell you this man....but you DID NOT get pulled over because of your tint.

He pulled you over because he saw that FMIC.

He used the tint/plate as a "reason" to pull you over so he could search for the real stuff to nail you with.

And yes..yes it is a profile case. I talked to an SC police officer about it off duty and they have been INSTRUCTED to look for "trouble" cars such as your and my previous car.

I got pulled over for the front plate too...but the dude followed me for days before he could find something on me. He got the front plate at the very last second. He got in the lane next to me and sped up and looked over his shoulder just as I got on the freeway at state park.....I went off on the guy and got 4 tickets. STUPID>

so yeah man...i've had the same exact tint on my last two cars. 20/35 all the way around man. Never got nailed for it once. And my last car was a 97 civic coupe that had been profiled/photo'd and filed. For about a year I got pulled over almost every time I came through the newark/fremont boarders after midnight. I finally moved.

I run with full tints and no plates at all right now......I am in SC about 3 days a week and have never even got a second look. I came up on a CHP camaro at about 75 on 17 the other day...nothing. He pulled over an idiot civic instead...funny.

I have however been pulled over for expired tags and no plates in SC before...like I said...it's an excuse to pull you over.

If I was running with that much juice under the hood I would have no tints, have a black FMIC and have my plate mounted.

Yeah I hate it when I get pulled over for rediculous laws that in our democratic society should have been approved buy the people instead of a few select politicians. Dont blame the power mongering cops it's cast upon them from above.

If cops have any reason to pull you over, they will do it. The entire state of California is strapped for cash and they'll do anything to generate income and make it look like cops are doing their job.

Best way to avoid tickets is to make your car a sleeper - keep the plates on, don't let the cops see your front windows are tinted and stay with traffic whenever possible. Also I hate to say it, but front mount intercoolers are the easiest way for cops to pull you over and make $ for the local government, so you might as well put a license plate over it to hide it a bit.

Good luck fighting the tickets!
