he is unreasonable, but then again, what can you do? it is his car so he can post whatever price he wants (regardless if it will sell or not). He is prolly not in a hurry to get rid of it.

Maybe... his S/O wants him to sell it - but he wants to keep it. He prices it high, but someone is sniffing, so he bumps the price higher

When it comes down to it, it is worth whatever he manages to sell it for. If he needed the money or was in a rush, you would probably get a better deal from him.

There's no harm in you asking or pointing KBB out to him, but he is totally free to say 'Sorry, I'm waiting for a better offer'

 

I just think its funny the guy hasnt been able to sell it, and then today he goes and raises the price 400 bucks........i guess I shouldn't have wondered whats going on and just realized the guy is just an idiot.
