ser's are cool, but being a 510 owner i have the tendency of being a bit bitter, as they were supposed to have the spirit of the OG, but front wheel drive? Although, the first drive i had in one scared the pants off me! Consider the SER logged in my book of choices.

As a Miata owner, I can highly recommend it. It's fun to drive, virtually bulletproof mechanically, and gets great gas mileage.
You can go nuts modifying it, but it handles pretty well stock. If you want to go past that, it's still pretty cheap:
Coilover kit from GroundControl, with Konis or AGX's: ~$800
Swaybars from Racing Beat: $250
K&N or Amsoil air filter: $50
4x Falken Azenis, 195/50-14's: $45ea?
That's about all you need to do, although I'd also recommend getting an Autopower or HardDog rollbar.

i used to be an alfa mechanic and they are a huge pain in the ***. they're beautiful, fun to drive, highly illogical, and always broken, but gtvs are some of the best old ones.
