I'd go with an 89-93 Nissan 240SX. For under $10K, you'd be able to get one and put a an SR20DET into it.

91-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R, i wish i still had mine. it was awesome to drive and was lots of fun on the track. only probelm is they have a slight 80s look, dont know how you feel about that

As a Miata owner, I can highly recommend it. It's fun to drive, virtually bulletproof mechanically, and gets great gas mileage.

You can go nuts modifying it, but it handles pretty well stock. If you want to go past that, it's still pretty cheap:

Coilover kit from GroundControl, with Konis or AGX's: ~$800
Swaybars from Racing Beat: $250
K&N or Amsoil air filter: $50
4x Falken Azenis, 195/50-14's: $45ea?

That's about all you need to do, although I'd also recommend getting an Autopower or HardDog rollbar.

P1800's are sweet... both the sedan AND wagon!

i used to be an alfa mechanic and they are a huge pain in the ***. they're beautiful, fun to drive, highly illogical, and always broken, but gtvs are some of the best old ones.

For a daily driver that would be both fun to drive (relatively speaking) and practical, I would suggest the CRX. But you'll be bored with it really fast after driving a WRX.
