Meets used to be on Thursday nights, usually starting earlier at about 8:00pm
Around December of last year they were moved to Friday nights, pretty much out of the fact that less and less people were coming out.

However, it seems like the demand is there for an alternate day, or a non-Friday night meet.

Let's hear some ideas!

I know I don't have much say, since I've only been to like 2 meets, but I'd like to place a vote for Fridays. I am in the process of adjusting my night job work schedule, and will be freeing up Friday nights soon. Plus, having it on a weeknight may pose a problem for some of the members who work M-F morning times. But then again, you'll never be able to please everybody.

Well I started this up to get input, at least before giving my opinions.

Friday night turnout has been getting better, at least it seems like it to me.

I don't see any reason to screw it up, HOWEVER I think it'd be cool to maybe have another MONTHLY meet on the weekends or some such thing. maybe a monthy BBQ at a park, shrimp shacks, etc. obviously it'd need to avoid Auto X, or be on Sat... just ideas.

have the monthly thing be like first (or 2nd, 3rd, etc) Sat of every month, this would all be dependant on intrest, though.

 

the bbq weekend thing has possibilities.

 

agreed, I tried to do a monthly get together in the hopes that more people would show and we could make it a bbq or something but everyone was against it.

I'm up for the monthly as the primary and we can still keep this weekly meets but i'm afraid that the turn outs will be less and less since people know there'll be another one the next week.

I always like change but if people are going to secretly ***** about it then there had better be reason why

I like BBQ's.
Maybe we should just set one up next month and see how the turn out is.
But yeah, it is kind of difficult to plan that stuff when you do not know how many people will show up each time.

 

To be honest I like the weekly thing, and I'd probably hit up a monthly thing too, but the weekly is where it's at. I'm not going to do **** elce on a friday night! I like them, helps toss out the stress from the work week, and even if i end up working around the house, etc. the rest of the weekend, friday night was i-club meet.

A monthly thing should be, "well, you missed all the weekly meets so here's the big one!"

I just really don't want to see the weekly fade out, as it's got a good thing going.

 

I didn't mean get rid of the weekly meets, What would I do if I couldn't see Jon every Friday?
Just have a BBQ every once in a while (every month, every other month?) as a bonus. Those who cannot come to the meets can get a chance to visit AND it may be more of a family thing than the Friday night meets.

 

"Can't stop, Won't Stop Rocafella Records cause We get down baby, we get down baby"... i think ppl will come no matter what day it is on, but we seem to have a majority who like fridays. the monthly thing would be cool but last time we tried it died so we'd need a lot of partcipation this round. we could also do things like bowling and mini golf which we have done in the past. (in my best martha stewart voice) change, it's a good thing.

 

i'd vote for the monthly bbq... i think it's a great idea...

 

and if i get off early on fridays..i'll be there too...

 

So I think we should get some more input and then think about uh, playing some damn mini golf and BBQing some char siu!
