It depends on the brand. DEI/Viper makes a remote start module with an addon specifically for manual transmission cars, but it will most likely have to be tapped into the neutral position sensor. To my knowledge it is the only remote start module legal for use on a manual transmission car.

I've installed a couple different alarms on various cars. I have a CompuSTAR alarm with remote start myself. I'm pleased with the CompuSTAR system since it seems more reliable than my friends that get DEI/clifford/viper remote starts. I've had 100% starts every time and the range on my 2way remote is ~6000 feet. I've parked my car at the fartest parking lot at De Anza college and had class on the opposite side of campus and my 2way remote went off when someone bumped or drove by with a realllly loud exhaust. The only thing about the CompuSTAR is that the 2way remote is big and the battery dies quick if you use the remote a lot. I average about a new battery each month. I usually just use a rechargable AA battery and switch it every month.

Fixed. Pros don't take chances and they don't smash windows.

i got python a990, features are:

turbo timer
remote start
1 mile range
2 way paging remote
screen remote (shows why the alarm is going off ie. door, shock sensor, shows car is started or not)
add-ons are available, like motion sensor, back up battery, etc.

i do love my alarm ^_^
also, since you got sti, sti's have neutral position wire on the ECM, i hooked up mine to it so the car wont start in gear, it saved my *** many times. also, tach wire and other various wires can found at the ecm, i have the diagram for 05 but i'm sure it'll be the same for 04.

i think i paid 240 or 180...i really dont remember, that was with employee discount awhile i was working at circuit city and install would be 120 but i did it myself (was installer @ circuit city). i'm trying to get my hands on old school clifford siren cus it sounds funky...anyone got one? one that sounds like drunk r2d2

i can show you how it works when we meet @ the coco meet sometime.

and i'm sure many already know but stealing radios are one of the easiest to do...customers get amazed when i'm swapping their radios, especially fords...lol ford.
