alarm/remote start questions

who has what kin of alarms and what should I get, remote start is preferred but not a must, and also roughly how much installed??

Only reason I need this is because some punks hit 2 cars for stereos 3 days ago, and now last night got another 3 and slashed my brothers tires because his face plate was off I'm guessing! I found hand prints on my windows like they looked in mine so I wanna be safe, any help would be great thanks

I did mine.. I wired my stuff between the firewall and the heatercore.

No reaching up to grab that quick.

+1 for DEI

any dei alarm is going to be pretty much the same. I have a viper 791xv in my car... they have much better ones out now... one mile range.
viper, clifford and python are all made my dei.
just make sure whoever installs it does it safely (for example make it unable to start while in gear, when the hood is pop'ed, e brake is not up) just in case it ever malfunctions.
however it sounds like you want an alarm that has 2way paging

I have a Viper 5002. Pretty sick alarm, and you can run the GPS tracking with it as well. Run some shock sensors in the doors, have a hood pin added, and they now make a module that can do remote start for manual transmission vehicles.

Install will be dealer dependent, so I would go talk to some installers. Tell them what you want to accomplish, and they should be able to tell what you will need and how much. Get a feel for whether they are trustworthy and competent.

OR, you can have the comprehensive on your insurance dropped to something like $50
