I officially hate 880.

Does anybody know a good place to repair the crack? Its about dime sized puncture, little smaller. I guess its not really a "crack" but more of a puncture, its not cracking around it, yet! So I need to get it fixed asap before it does start cracking and spreading. Do you guys think the dealership does repairs? Im located in San Jose/Santa Clara.

you dont want to go to the dealership bro...they will charge you up the @ss. there are shops like autoglass and safelite that will fix it/replace it for alot cheaper. get it fixed ASAP though. I had a quarter size crack on the top of my windshield a few months ago and the next morning, the crack tripled in size.

I just realized you have a new 08. im not too sure if thats under warranty.

 

Yeah not under warranty, they offered some road hazards for cracked windshields for an additional payment a month. But I didnt take them up on it cuz i didnt think i would be getting a crack so damn soon.

BTW did you get yours fixed or replaced? and how much did that cost you?

whats the price im looking at? and if worse comes to worse and it spreads how much am i looking at for a new windshield?

 

well, I got in a hit and run accident about a month back and even though the windshield crack was there prior,my insurance decided to replace the windshield anyway.

anyway, a new windshield can range anywhere between $300 to $500. I got a quote of $250 for a normal windshield and $450 for the heated windshield w/ wiper deicer (standard on the 07 wrx limited)

 

ah pretty pricey. I heard insurance covers most or all windshield replacement so that could be cool. But ya I need to find some local quality repairs before it gets worse

 

go to some asian place. i just got my accord window replaced. insurence is asking $250 for the deductble and this asian place only asking $170 and was going to go lower. but since the insurence guy was there already so he said he will take $170. so i fixed it for $170
