After 20 days, and $12,000, I am happy again!

I got my car back from the shop!

I went from driving a 1998 mercedes E430, which translates into "Ive been driving a really heavy, sloppy boat with no power".

Man, getting into my STi and driving it felt like I was in a Bugatti or something compared to the boat benz.

All the damage was just body panels, no structural damage what so ever, even the alignment was still straight... They had to replace the rear quarter as well as the whole side (in terms of panels). Thats why it was so expensive.

I took it to a REALLY good body shop in Hayward called "Hayward Body Shop", they have been there since the 50s and do AMAZING work... Their staff is super friendly and helpful. I don't think Im going to take my car anywhere else again. Ive been to a bunch of high end body shops, but this one kicks the crap out of them all. I HIGHLY recommend them. They stand by their work and have a life time warranty on their paint. Their paint work is soooo much higher quality then stock, its ridiculous.

But yeah, if you need a fair and honest shop that wont screw you, check them out... Thats where I'm going from this point forward.

PS: Family owned

Nice.. I know that feeling!!!
I went a month and a week without my STi after some ***** ran a red light and almost killed me...

Its good to have it back!!! MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EVERYTHING!!!!

I know how it feels to get the car back, you are excited. But make sure everything is good.... spray the car down, look for leaks, and make sure all the wiring is connected again. Test small things like the windows, opening the doors both inside and out, and so forth.

I say this because I found some really minor issues weeks after I had my car back. They fixed them..but its nice to get that out of the way quickly.

Looks nice! Been wanting to shoot some car pics in the early morning, we should go up to Mt. Tam or something real early and take some shots.

PS. I almost died in my Justy today - I was going through an intersection to the smog shop and it's one of those with a left turn but no arrow, so I was going straight and just as I got to the intersection the dude in the International flat bed Monarch truck decided to start his turn, right in front of me. NO WAY could I stop and I didn't want to put a Justy steering wheel through my chest (the Suby sign would be backwards that way) and there was no one to the right of him so I swerved left into oncoming and back into my lane and then stopped to check my pants. Fooking hell!
