what year wrx/sti do u have?
oh and bellmouth downpipes are not all they are cracked to be. most people that have done the swap from flat flanged to bellmouth designed downpipes do not feel any difference at all. some say it would only be beneficial once you pass the 300whp mark. so i never bothered swapping mine to something else.

good information. but i think i wanna switch to a catted downpipe anyways to reduce backfire.
but it's good to know its not urgent. and ya i heard its only a couple HP difference anyways.

Its ok to run the map on that downpipe but it will be far from optimal and you will likely experience some knock.
As far as the difference between a flat flange downpipe and a bellmouth, while you can get most of the power with a flat flange, it will severely impact response and the overall smoothness of the power band. I know they're cheap, but a decent bell mouth isn't much more expensive
