im sure this topic has been discussed in the past but i was wondering how many of you got a shop or dealer to do it and if so, how much did you pay? I read one of mpj's posts and it said about 375. Which shops should i look out for and at what price? 300ish sounds about fair.

if you want a shop to do it, go to LIC or AutoHQ(just don't let them sell you on the 'air intake cleaning' bull****).

I ended up doing my own 60K service. well, still working on it.

I bought:

OEM air filter
OEM fuel filter
OEM oil filter and crush washers $1.50 each
Subaru dealership sold coolant (something cheap, saw it at kragen too) $10
Subaru coolant conditioner (MUST DO. see TSB at http://mattsnow.googlepages.com/TSB09-42-05.jpg ) $5
Motul DOT 5.1 + Goodridge brake lines $115
2 cases of Mobil 1 5w30 from costco $40 something
4 quarts red line 75w90 gear oil (from summit racing, only put 3.2 quarts in tranny, 1.2? in rear diff, got some for spare just in case. $42 shipped)
1 quart pennzoil syncromesh (transmission only, this will replace 1quart of the tranny oil.) $10?


I also replaced my brake pads and rotors. Rotors were $90 for unpainted hub centric OEM replacements F&R. $~130 for Hawk HPS pads F&R.
