last night at DCMP, i meet a guy ( who shall remain nameless, for his own safety ) that tells me that his 04 WRX can hit 55 in first gear. this is with pulleys, "an uprated timing belt ", and a Vishnu reflash. immediately i call the BS flag and say that if he can prove it with me in the car, ill give him $10 in gas. after all kinds of excuses ( my girlfriends in the car, i need an open road, etc... ) he finally agrees, and we go drop his girlfriend off. as for open road, he does it up by Lisbon and Russia. what the ****? suffice it to say, he only hit 36 mph at redline ( although he will claim 40 " right before the shift " ) when i drove, i only hit 36, and this is all with his friend in the car, who agrees that it will happen, " with a special trick ". bull****. so after were done proving hes full of crap, we pick up his girl and head back. at hich point, he starts asking me questions about gear ratios, redlines, valvetrains and ECU's.... and then says his car "had" a Vishnu reflash, but when he bought it used, Subaru took it off....

run smaller sidewalls and this could be achieved at redline. but you would have to be dumb to think its a true 55mph.

I think 225/40/17 run between 5-10mph higher on a WRX then they should.

neutral? mine does it in park!:rotfl: and this guy IS a complete n00b! he says his freidn also has a Rex, but it does 60 in first, hits 18 psi on a TD04, and can take a Gallardo off the line AND from a rolling stop. he says " it'll make you stop breathing " as was his response from it, but when i drove HIS car ( the subject of this story )at 30 in second and stabbed the gas, it scared the **** out of him. his girl was in the car when i proved him bull****, and she was all smiles about it it wouldnt be so bad if he wasnt so ****ing adamant about the whole thing... he believes his own bull****!

 

Bah, mine does 60 MPH forwards in reverse at redline. And I know how to control and recover from a redline.
