Just get a public defender, may be able to reduce the fine. When I was a teenager many years ago, I had a simular experience. The cop wrote a wreckless driving ticket for $500 (yeah it's been a long time since fines were this cheap). I got a public defender who was able to get it reduced to "to fast for conditions" the fine went to $100 and I had a $100 court fee. Main thing to do os learn from this experience, doubling the speed limits is well within the realm of wreckless driving. Best luck here man.

Majeed Samara in Millbrae off of El Camino and Silver.
He got me off of a reckless driving back in high school.
He's not that expensive either and is worth the money you're paying him.

But on the other note, you pay to play like that, sorry to say but just doesn't seem the best of choices. Also if you're next to another car (most likely modified or looks fast) the cop's gonna look at it and go street racers no doubt about it. Just be lucky you were let off on scene.

Don't waste your hard earned cash. You should go to traffic court and fight it. Tell the judge the cop lied and you were "cruising"at a speed that was safe for conditions at the given time of day with minimal vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

J/k. If you fight it, the judge might feel like you'll just do it again and give you the max fine and restrict traffic school given the gross speed and safety negligence.

PS. Stay the hell away from residential areas. If you hurt someone, you'll never forgive yourself.

Why do you need a lawyer? You said yourself 70mph on 35.. Why are you trying to avoid full punishment?!I'd understand 45 mph on a 35 at most but 70!
