23109(a) speed contest misdemeanor

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I just received a misdemeanor earlier today. I was on my way to photoshoot with a couple of friends and we were going about 70mph in a 35mph zone. cop spotted us when we were reaching our highest speed and pulled us over. He said we were racing but we were only cruising at a high speed together. Has anyone had experience with these kinds of misdemeanors or know of a really good attorney?

You were not "cruising". You are lucky you kept your car. That is all.

+1. You might want to consider a public defender, I'll bet they'll get it reduced to point(s) on your license and a fine, and you can likely get the public defender for free.

It wasn't in a school zone. It was actually a very open 4 lane straight road with no incoming turns for about a mile or two. We are just looking for an attorney so hence why I posted here seeing if anyone knew an attorney that was good with traffic violations

i used a public defender in a similar situation, the court lowered my charge ti an infraction with one point and allowed me to do traffic school to clear the points so my insurance would,t go up, i got lucky though, good luck

doesnt sound to me like you need an attorney, it sounds like you need to learn how to drive safely.
