I just happen to have the modified magazine with eh dc shoes STI's.. those things are heavily modified. putting out 426 HP.
when i said the STI is rated to go 150.. i meant stock.
A quote from the article "The speedo was Buried ar 160Mph but we must have topped out at 180mph.
the cars include at the very least :
CP32 turbo Kit
Forged Pistons
APS Cold Air Intake
APS 3" Steel turboback system
4 Crawford 800cc fuel injectors
Walbro 280lph in-tank pump
I-Speed ECUTEK mod
This is with 91 octant pump gas pulling 18 pounds of boost.
426 HP at the crank and 422 ft lbs of torque
beautiful.. but hardly stock

When you buy it from a dealer.. you can just take it out and rally race it..
Subaru team takes the STI and add a couple million dollars in mods. But the heart of the rally car is the STI.

Not until you weld in a roll cage!

functional or not, I see no need for it to be there as I'm sure there are many other ways to disrupt the huge air pocket behind the car. The Evo MR used a much better way with fins than a pre-spoiler and IMHO it's not even needed for most cars, they should just have it as a SPT or STi option.
