Hmmm. Good question. This being America, and all I guess you can go after them for pretty much anything. I'll be honest though, if you tell them enough and/or point to the AWD sticker and tell them to flat bed it, I don't see why you can't go after them if they tow your car with two wheels on the ground.

i always ask for flatbed when it comes to towing. my car is too low to be towed with the hook. they will need the dolly to pull the car. so might as well get a flatbed.

both my friend's evo and the Z is too low to tow with anything. the tow truck driver SMASH off their car in front of them. they couldnt do anything about it. thats when they got impounded.

I've had the suby towed once now that I think about it. It of course was a flatbed, and he had to put something in front of the front tires so it could get on the bed without scraping, and I'm on stock sti suspension!

Also, has anyone thats had their car towed had the driver not be able to get his hook in the tow hook loop?

they are allowed to tow your car, but I don't believe they are allowed to damage it, otherwise why spend money on a big truck? just bust out the windows and attach your winch to the a-pillar

I don't know how effective the AWD, flatbed only sticker is. I figure that if they are going to tow my car, they'd at least to look at my VIN number. A bright sticker with CAUTION! on it... I guess it'd be really hard to miss something like that, but yeah... I guess it'd be hard to prove it.

generally if you car is being towed, it will be "at owner's expense"... So to me that sounds like "They can do what ever they want to your car and not pay a dime for any damages."

I think that only applies to fines, not damage, but I could be wrong. Someone call Len Tillem!

You make a good point. I think MBasile is right though. I think Owner's Expense refers to towing and impound costs.
