I have a 15 Gig DJ, have it hooked up to my car stereo, love it! For the price, can't be beat! Check out delldjsite.com from some tips and info, there are some firmware issues to be aware of if you decide to snag this!

I was going to get an Ipod because it could be set up for that same reason. How do you like it so far? The kit for the car makes the grand total $176. Is it worth it considering the price and the firmware issue?

I actually bought an FM modulator from Crutchfield.com I think it was bout 50 bucks, but it is hard wired through the antenna so quality is superb (to me at least). Battery life is excellent, so I don't need a car charger. The DJ has been out for about a year (IIRC) as with many 1st gen HD MP3 players, they have problems. I haven't had any, but I've heard DELL customer service will rush you out a replacement and pay for you to return it. But, like I said, I haven't had any troubles. I bought a refurb one so mine was about the price you see it for. It is a little bigger than an Ipod and a bit heavier. You can get many accessories from Belkin's website with a little coupon code I know (50%) off...

To him it sounds great. To me it sounds grainy and flat. Like theres no bass. Get an adapter for your headunit (if you can) that lets you plug it in thru the CD Changer connection. It converts RCA to Changer. Alpine and Kenwood both have them, I know because I've owned them both. When I used those for my in-car DVD project, it sounded just like a CD. I played with a FM Transmitter, but I get the same sound problems Ryan's having.

Yeah, if your headunit supports Aux in, do that. But if you have a stock unit or an aftermarket that doesn't support aux in, FM modulator or transmitter is the only way to go. If you are willing to sacrifice sound for ease of use or portability (car to car, home system etc...) get a transmitter.
