Thumbs up Greencine online dvd rental service *review*

I've been using this new online dvd rental service from San Fran for about a month now and I'm happy to report back the good results:

huge selection of rare and hard to find movies (anime, independent, foreign, mature, etc) they still have the typical blockbuster flicks too.

super fast turnaround - i got 3 movies in, ripped them, mailed them back the same night... they would receive them the next day and ship out 3 new movies. i would get them the following day.

cardboard mailers - i have yet to receive a cracked or scratched dvd. none of the other dvd rental places used cardboard

pricing - is about the same as netflix/walmart/blockbuster

*******************
before this i used the following:

blockbuster - 2 months
long delivery, 2-3 day minimum turnaround
so-so selection
one plus is they give you 2 free in-store coupons for those moments when you want to watch something on the spur of the moment

walmart - 2 months
about the same as blockbuster but cheaper by $2-3
they're the devil !

netflix - 3 months
1st month was fast turnaround
huge selection
2nd month, they slowed down delivery ON PURPOSE (it's been documented on other sites too)
lots of scratched dvds

You did state that you have used this service for one month, but you still don't know what will happen a couple of months down the line. Respond on how they do in a couple of months.

I thought it was odd that netflix seemed to slow down delivery after the first month or so. So I cancelled. Might start up a new one, either local or online. I'll have to check out this Greencine.

it's not odd cause it happened to a LOT of people who posted about it online. netflix slowed down delivery cause they were losing $$ to people who rented too much.

f that. if i pay for a service that's supposed to be "unlimited", it better damn be unlimited.
