Just hit 105k. Has anyone replaced the timing belt and the idler pulleys yourself or in at a shop? If so, how much did you spend? I need to get the 105k service done and want to know if I should buy the parts and have a shop do it, do it myself, or have a shop do everything. Car seems to be running fine with a downpipe, Apex GT, K&N air filter, a couple rattles, turbo seals going out and having to change my turbo. The car does have crummy power from 2500 to 3500. That's why I want to get a tune up.

Chris, I split off your post from the 'highest odometer reading' thread because it's beyond the scope of that thread to get into a discussion about maintenance procedures and shop labor prices. Maybe some Bay Area local who had the work done can tell us how much they paid for the timing belt change.

NOTE: C 007 drives a MY02 WRX wagon, regarding maintenance.

The 105k is just a timing belt, thermostat, and water pump through our shop. A tune up would of been done at the 90k service, or not until your 120k service. If you didn't have you 90k done it would be highly recommended at time fo 105k service.

Here is our pricing; www.licmotorsports.com/306090k.htm
