Jane, sorry i never got back to you about this. Although i'd love to do it. I 100% can't. There's a play in the city (SF) that i'm going to with Christina (my wife) and we are going with her mother and step-father.
And i i missed that (which i won't) My friend Mark is having a baby shower i was suppose to go to. But i'm missing it.
Let me know of other ones though.
Also hope you make the next drive. I'm trying to do it on the days you gave me. But these up and coming months are packed with stuff.

You should go to their web site and read up, this is all on open roads, and it is fun, but the objective is to get to places "on time" you are penalized for arriving early or late.
The people who like to do it range from mild mannered suburban couples to hard core computer geeks to disillusioned wannabe race car drivers, some are very competative (these events are often won by teams that zero all of the timing controls) but most everyone winds up having a good time regardless.
I think they might have limitations on minors participating, but go to the ITN website and educate yourself

k thanks i went to the site. i mean if you dont care about winning and such can you go fast and just liek race your self like when your on a road by yourself and you know try and go faster and faster or will the people get mad and like say you cant go anymore. becasue i would really like to do something like a tarmac rally and this seems the closes to it.

The thing about these is that since they allow creeping, you actually can drive "as fast as you want to" and slow way down for the checpkpoints.
But you are on open public roads, you can be DQ'd for getting a ticket or in an accident and they really don't want people doing those things.
With that said- lots of the roads will be twisty backroads which can be plenty fun and challenging to drive anyway.
Runing in ITN events probably won't in itself give you the driving skills to compete in rally races, but some of the navigation and timing skills will certainly carry over-
and you don't need a roll cage, fire suit and all that stuff for ITN like you do for performance rallying
