These are awesome events. 8 hours of driving incredible back roads.
Plenty of opportunities for "spirited" driving.
Check out this tread too http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=511181
So who wants to caravan down on Saturday morning? Leaving Oakland at 6am? Will probably stay in Lebec Saturday night and drive backup on Sunday.

Wow Jane that sounds great, But i don't know what's going on around here yet. Plus Christina (my wife) would be very worried about the car since i would have had it back for only a week or so.
How much is it?
Is Pete going too?
How big is the event?
How long would it take to drive there?

Hi Bushido,
Yeah all you guys that have been doing these drives with Pete and Rich would have a blast. In fact you would be "old hands" at this because of the tours you've done.
To answer your questions ...
As a FIRST TIME ENTRANT the cost would be $27.50 per car.
I'll let Pete answer that question 'cos I don't know the answer!
Well they had 28 cars in February and over 50% were Subies from So Cal ...
I ran solo, but it is better to have a navigator at least your first time out.
It takes 4 hours to drive from the East Bay to Lebec. 300 miles. So add some time if coming from Marin.
It would be great if we could get a group going from up here.

As far as I know all the roads will be paved and you should have no problem with a slightly lowered car. But you may want to email the Rally Master, Tim Errington, <tim AT singmaster DOT com>

I've gotta work Friday and saturday nights, so no rally for me next weekend.
The roads should be fine for a slightly lowered car, they tend to run all on pavement and they get anything from Porsches and DeLoreans to Cobras running in them.

>Could lowered cars go on these roads?
Not to worry. The rallyemaster drives a nice Porsche ;-)
He's also told me: all the route is on the Kern County Map.
So expect to see great driving roads like Hwys 155 & 178 Breckenridge Rd and the imfamous Caliente-Bodfish!
