the vf34 is slightly bigger than the vf39,and will produce 10- 20 more whp than the 39. both spool about the same, and topend is just about the same. if i had to choose one or the other it would be the 34 i ran one for awhile and made 290 awhp and 258 awtq. a friend has the 39 and his # were 279 awhp and 248 awtq . the only difference in our cars was the turbos. dynoed the same day at the same place

I'm getting my VF39, pinks, and pump installed and Protuned tomorrow, so I'll let you know the results and how it drives compared to Cobb Stage 2. I am getting a pre-VF39 dyno as well, so you can see the full difference.

Well its all about price!
Used VF39 is about 450 bucks

VF34 at 750 +

So VF39 would be nice upgrade for that price!

Question! COBB Stage 4 doesnt work with VF39?
What about UTEC?
Because i was thinking of switching from COBB to UTEC. Or maybe get COBB V2 if it has more maps for it.

I dont want to pay 300 bucks for extra 15 HP for tunning. LOL

I would take the vf34 over the vf39

What are some of the benefits of a P&P + ceramic coat? Faster spool up, (by how much) more power through the low, mid, and high power band?

Was thinking about doing this when I get my VF39 but not real sure on what they do as far as performance goes....

its not just about more power. better drivability, better response, and your car will run a lot smoother. ots maps are ok for break in or for temporary use but i'd definately recommend dyno tuning.

i had a vf34 on my first wrx it pulled nicely i was very happy with it. I paid like 900 for it. however I believe grouppe s has a slightly used vf39 for sale for under 400 which is a great deal and depends if you want to send more or less money for just a little more hp. They are not really that much different.

well is there going to be a vf34 map for the cobb ap2? cuz im thinking its all about the tune anyway so getting the vf39 would be so bad if you are getting a custom tune anyway. i mean if you plan on not getting a tune right away then the vf34 would be a better choice if cobb is providing a map for it.

what would be the power difference if you placed the 39 on without a tune?
