Thunderhill Subaru Track Day 10/04/04
Potential I-Club track day:
First off, let me say that as of right now, this is not an I-Club sponsored event. I will be contacting Alex to see if he would like to participate, but as of right now this is just an idea Lowball and I have been kicking around.
For those of you that don’t know, Lowball and I (among others) are the local Sac Track ***** crew. We’ve been running with a group called Unlimited Laps out at Thunderhill for a couple of years now. Recently we discovered the next event was going to be a Porsche only event. Lowball decided to contact the event organizer to find out if we could get a Suby only event. He is very receptive to this idea since we’ve had as many as 20 Subies out there at one time. See:
To have an exclusive Suby only track day would require 55 cars. The price per driver would be $215. This would include plenty of track time and a catered lunch. The price could be reduced if we get sponsors. If we have less than 55 committed Suby owners, the track day would also be open to other Unlimited Laps participants. Guests may be charged $10 for lunch, but we’ll see how that shakes out. Water, Gatorade, and snacks would be provided throughout the day.
Run groups can be customized, but the usual breakout is 3 run groups: green (novice), yellow (intermediate), and red (expert). Each class would have unique passing rules and the novices would drive with an instructor on board. Normally we have 4 30 minute sessions per run group and a final open session lasting 30-45 minutes. We would need volunteers from red and yellow groups to help out as instructors.
Right now we are unsure of the date, but Unlimited Laps already has 10/4 reserved and we could possibly take that.
For now, we would like to get a feel for how many folks would be interested. Please only reply if you actually intend on participating. I realize the date is open and that some of you may not be able to make it once it is finalized. But for now I need to find out if we can even get close to the required 55 cars. Please reply below. Even if we end up with less than 55, we can have a semi-exclusive event and if we get sponsors, our fees will be reduced.
This is an awesome track and only 1 hour north of Sacramento on I-5. There are lodging accommodations in Willows, CA for anyone who wants to come the night before (I smell I-Club PARTY!). 92, 100, and 110 are available at the track.
This is a great opportunity for new drivers and seasoned experts. Come bring your high powered sports car to the track and push it to the/your limits in a safe environment.

After conferring with the UnlimitedLaps organizer, we would need to act quickly to reserve the 10/4 slot. Otherwise this would take place sometime next year. The date is already scheduled with Thunderhill, we just need to get them a commitment on how many cars quickly. Please post up ASAP. Both Lowball and I will be at Mt. Hamilton, so come see us if you have any questions.
Registration is now open! Only 30 spots reserved so sign up now!
