concerning turboed motors what have you broken.
and how many miles have you put on the motor since the turbo was installed.
What other modes do you have and do you have to test for emissions.
I'm kinda werry about installing a turbo because of reliability issues.Concidering this is my primary car, driving long distances with the turbo worry me.
Thanks any help would be great.

Just like any modification to your car, if done CORRECTLY there will be no harm in drivability and you'll still be able to pass emissions.
How much are you allocating for the job? kit or custom? Beware the creeping costs of installing a turbo if you don't do it all right the 1st time. Plenty of threads on this.
Many ECUs will allow you to have seperate maps, with the last car that i worked on, we built one map for daily driving (good emossions, runs a bit leaner, not as much boost, etc, etc.) and another map for track days. If it's your primary car, i'd be wary of doing this as well unless you have a secondary car you can use while your impreza is down for the install.

I'm looking at all the big name kit like ludespeed, spo and cobb if they ever come out with one.
Well "how much is a relitive" term I was thinking of just doing the usdm wrx conversion. But installing the turbo kit does sound very appealing.
All these question stem from the fact that I drove to california and back recently. The whole drive I was thinking could this engine survive the trip if it was turboed.
I also want to do other engine mods like cams. But with the little experiance I have with turbos I not sure if the ej25 could last. Even if at only 6psi.
Although I do have an affinity for the lude speed stage III kit because it comes with a plug in ecu.
Thanks any help would be great, later.
P.S what up rob.

I drove my car, a 99 RS-T with a kit very similar to the ludespeed all over the state of washington, and then down to utah. No problems; long drives are easy because your engine is experiencing cruising loads, medium RPM's and no boost. If you where at full boost the whole trip, that may be another story.
