I'm thinking about gettin' my REX dirty this weekend at a rallycross event...I have a few questions:

What experience with rallycross (good or bad) have you had??
What should I do to prep the car (if anything)??
Are these event's pretty rough on the car??

My WRX is a stock '03 sedan...I figure for $30 it would be a good experience:D

Where is the RallyCross?

The rally is in/near the Dayton/Xenia, OH area (The Green Township Fairgrounds to be exact)....

What part of the country are you in??

OO, I live on the east coast near NJ, My buddies and I always go together, I usaully take my Tool box and gravel tires, so i can fix my car if anything small brakes. If somthing major happens i go home with my friend and I come back the next day with a UHAUL trialer and a truck!!!

Rallycross is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on! I have done it for two seasons now with my WRX and they are made for it. Stock works very well and is a balanced car from
the factory. I am running Open now and have modified it a lot.
If i did it again , I would just run stock.
The good thing is on dirt and grass, it is hard to hurt a WRX.
The worst thing I have had is pealing a tire off a wheel in a
hard corner. Air was all that was needed. Popping the clutch
at 6,000 at the start won't hurt it. I wouldn't do that at an
Autocross on pavement but there is plenty of give on grass and dirt to go for it. I am sure you will enjoy it as I have. Oregon
Rally Group is currently averaging about 200 cars on a
Sunday when playing "Rallycross". The only drawback is getting the wheel wells clean after an event. Boy , you can pack a lot of dirt in them. Cleaning the grass out of the tire beads is fun too.:D :D Check it out at http://www3.oregonrally.com/

My only thing is you might want to have a skid plate.

I got to do a *free* oil pan re-seal for a guy who went a little wide into a dirt mound.

i think primitive sells a light one for a little over $100 that works great for keeping the ground and your engine seprate.
