View Full Version : Just ordered HIDs (for my '06 WRX TR)
Lucky7w 11-24-2006, 03:19 PM hey, just ordered them for my 06 TR.
but i have a question.
someone told me i will need centering adapters which go on the bulbs so they will align properly in the H7 mounts. any ideas where i can get these? checked ebay like i was suggested to but could not find any.
thanks!!

does it look like i need anything else? my buddy showed me this site. i guess a good amount of ppl from wrxfanatics.com order from here.
mhl23 11-24-2006, 03:45 PM If you ordered the H7 setup, then i think you will be fine.
coz these are rebased bulbs, not D2S, so you don't need adpator for your H7 housing.
Lucky7w 11-24-2006, 04:03 PM good enough for me. thanks mhl. we'll see what happens when i get em.
Lucky7w 11-24-2006, 10:46 PM oh hey, one more question. i was talking to someone on the board about their HIDs and he mentioned the day time running lights and having to take care of those with the HIDs now. anyone kno what will be going on with those, if anything, after installing my HID kit?

not sure if this will work on the 06, but this is what i did to my 02 to disable the daytime running lights.

Lucky7w 11-24-2006, 10:58 PM awesome! i'll give it a try. thanks again mhl!!
x002x 11-24-2006, 11:13 PM check to make sure that the drl disable method is the same for the 06's from the 05 and earlier models; i say this because on the legacy line-up, subaru redesigned the drl lines in such a way that you can no long just simply un-plug the cables... but rather have to cut them. so double check w/ your fellow 06 owners before doing so.

How do you like that kit? I was looking at getting it for some time now
pignoseWRX 11-26-2006, 03:04 PM it's alright in the stock projectors... the cutoff is not as crisp as i would like. my last car had oem 7-series projectors retrofitted in to the housings so i'm leaning towards putting some oem projectors in these housings too. the e46 projectors are dirt cheap now.
Lucky7w 11-29-2006, 10:23 AM hey, just to let you all know. i got the lights on monday. installed em tuesday and they are cherry. i love it. looks so much better than stock!!
thanks for any help in answering my many questions everyone.
