Can any one tell me if there is any diffrence between an equal length header or the ones that borla makes. I am considering getting the Borla 2.5 header but i wanted to know if the equal length ones had better flow and more Hp gains. Thanks
On a turbo application a equal length design is well worth it but on a non turbo application I'd have to wonder if its worth the cost.

i think that the problem is that with equal length headers for a 2.5l, the possibilty of turboing is out of the question (due to placement of the collector).
but the equal lenght headers ussually do have higher hp gains... they also cost more than the borlas (which can be used as turbo headers later).

The TWE equal length headers collect at the oem location I believe?

wouldn't all headers collect at the OEM location, except those that are designed for a turbo retrofit?
(not arguing, trying to understand)

No. Any system not designed for the stock locations whether they are for turbo or N/A are simply not designed for the OEM locations.
The MRT system is not stock locations, neither is brullen, and I think there is another system coming out that is not designed for stock locations.
In my opinion, the stock angles suck, and you want a full system designed for better flow if you want real power improvement.

I think my problem is that I don't understand "collector"
I thought it was where each headpipe bolts to the head. Is it where pipes join, finally becoming one pipe?
I hate to sound stupid, but there's really no better way to learn :)

Collector is a term for where the header tubes come together and terminate at a "collector"
Im not really sure about where each headpipe bolts to the head. I've always called it an exhaust flange, im not sure if there is another word for it.:D
It's not stupid to ask. It might be to people who have heard the same questions a thousand times. But they too were "stupid" at on point in time.:D Think of it this way, you just got smarter buy learning what "collector" is. :D
