Yokohama Tire --- Out of Round.?.

I have a set of Yokohama A550 tires 215/45-17. They are a rare model Yokohama sold exclusively to Sears - I understand.

After 3 balancings, Sears still couldn't get it right (wheel shaking bad between 55-75mph). I then took the car to a highly reputable shop for balancing and they wouldn't even try balancing them because they said 3 of the 4 tires are out of round - manufacturer defect....

Of course Sears says the tires are fine and it is the wheels. Has anyone else had Yokohama tires that were out of round?

If the tire is still within warranty and the out of roundness can't be attributed to your driving or a specific incident, a warranty claim should be possible.

If Sears doesn't have the correct equipment to measure force variation, than find somewhere that does. A square tire can be balanced but won't ride well. Check here to find a location with a balance machine that has a force variation measurement for true roundness. Discuss this with Sears before spending your money to fix defective tires.
