I've followed a wrx with So3's through harriman state park in the dry w/ my rs, they can't be that bad...

How much does a fresh to new set of re's go for in the classified's anyway?...

i thought i read or heard about something in the news that auto mfg's are going to re-think their OE tire options. a lot of people complain about a great majority of OE tires from overseas autos.

while the re-92's do suck, they arent THAD bad in the snow. just dont drive like a retard and most all seasons are ok in the snow. but if you choose to drive like a retard, then thats your choice.

and i agree, if you are complaining about the stock tires, while modding the rest of your car with blitz this, utec that, then your modding principles are somewhat ricer-esque, as any real car enthusiast knows that new tires are about the best thing you could do for your car. its the only thing touching the ground between you and the street!!! but if you really want coilovers and that vf34 right now... good luck utlizing it without grip or cornering stability.

I think people are misled by these complaints...

To me, it seems the problem is that the WRX has more torque than the tires can handle.
This may be an indication of the quality of the tires, but it in no way calls for a general condemnation of them.

I had a set of stock WRX rims (w/ RE92's) on my 2.2L, and they served me perfectly- no complaints. I was even surprised how well they handled snow- it was as if it wasn't there.

So, to sum up, RE92's aren't worthless, but you could definitely find a better set of shoes to better suit a WRX.

Nothing is "free" with the car....you are paying for everything in the price of the car believe it or not...

sure people like you and I know that these tires suck, but there are many new members that do not know how bad these tires are so why not repeat it as newer members continue to register?

It's easy for you to say you don't want to hear it anymore, but maybe its something that needs to be repeated...

When someone asks for a recomendation for a good mechanic or vendor in the bay area forum and people always repeat LIC motorsports and gruppe-s is that a bad thing....ofcourse it isn't.

The same thing goes with bad things....If someone is asking for a suggestion for a shop you would tell them to avoid joes backyard subaru repair, right?

Great point and I was not complaining about the new guys asking questions about the cars or what is on them because that is how I learned what I do know about my car. Asking questions, it is the constant yammering and whining from guys who have a new turbo, a new suspension setup and whine that their 0-60 times suck because they have no tire to put the power to the ground. Or the guys who try to auto-x with them and end up having a worse time than the '79 Gremlin that is in their class.

Austin

:Edit, the cars were changed so not to offend anyone.:
