I saw an ad for a set of 16" WRX wheels for sale at a good price. I am windering if they can be a direct replacement for the 2006 STI? I am thinking of picking them up for use in the winter. I calculated the circumference based on the size of tire on it (205/55/16), and it is almost identical to the 2006 STI rim/tire set.

 

i don't think they'll clear your brakes and bolt patterns are different...

 

Thanks. After doing some more research, the bolt patern for the WRX are 5X100mm, the STI is 5X114mm. You are probably right on the brake clearance as well. Thank you very much.

 

You'll have a hard time w/ lot of wheels, more because of the brakes than anything. I think your best bet is to buy a set of rotas or buy somebodies STI wheels they are selling.

 

since the bolt patterns are diff. will a STI BBS rims fit a regular WRX? just curious because I'm planning to change my rims n tires....

 

The 04 STi rims will fit any WRX. The 05-06 STi(I) rims will not fit any WRX's, because they have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern.

04 STi and all WRX's (and most Subarus)=5x100
