The biggest difference you will notice is that the 17's won't make your wallet as light to start or when it's time for new tires down the road, as it were.

I have the 17" SSR's...

I have used both 18s and 17s on my WRX and I will always recommend 17s. In my opinion, the 18s didn't look right on a non-lowered WRX. Also, ride comfort is better, you can still clear Brembos with the SSRs, performance difference is arguable but I would say it's nil, and race tires are rare above 17". If you're doing it for the bling, think of how you'll feel in two years - will you still like the 18s?

18 ssr

I just got the 18" ssr wheels with 235/40/18 potenza s0-3

i noticed they tend to follow imperfections in the road like small grooves invisible to the eye as your driving, all of a sudden your wheel wants to turn and your driving to the left or right.

the car stays really flat and goes way faster through on and off ramps.

weight the wheels and tires

I weighed the stock wheels and tires on my trusty home scale=38lbs

18"SSR with 235/40/18 Pole Position SO-3 = 40lbs.

I haven't noticed any degrading affects on performance. It truly seems like a huge upgrade from the stockers.
