Wheels for 92 Legacy Turbo
I replaced my stock 15" wheels on my car with a 16x7.5, which was a mistake because now the tires' (205/55-16) sidewalls ocassionally rub against the coil springs when the vehicle hits a big bump or when it is loaded with passengers and/or gear. Would replacing the wheels with 16x6.5 (kinda hard to find) or 16x7 (a little easier to find) fix my problem? Does anyone with a Legacy similar to mine have successfully upgraded/replaced the stock wheels & tires without having any clearance problems?

I run OEM WRX wheels which are 16x6.5 I believe. My tires are 205/55R16 and have no rubbing issues on my Legacy turbo. 16x7.5 seems pretty wide. Your offset may be a factor also.

92legacyej22t...Thanks for the response. I guess I'll be heading over to the local Subaru Dealer and order me a set of the WRX wheels. I hope that they have a reasonable price.
I don't think that my 7.5 wheels have a wrong offset since the tires were also slightly rubbing the fender lips during bumps, but I had a local body shop fix that problem.
Anyway, I'm just new here in these Forums, and I'm looking forward to getting more information & interactions with other Legacy owners, which will help me maintain my car in decent running order for a few more years.
