Yes, Nittos are horrible. I had a set and NEVER AGAIN.

Now, as far as tire size, if your wheels are 17 x 7, then 205/45 or 215/45 are the tires sizes you shoudl consider. The 205/45 will make your sidewall be flush w/ the rim of your wheel and the 215/45 will tend to be wider than the rim of the wheel. If you happen to have new wheels that measure 17 x 7.5, then 225/45 would be the best option. I'm currently running 225/46 Yokohamo ES100s on 17 x7.5 Subzeros and they are pretty good for the money. Hope this helps.

On 17x7 I'd still go with 225s. They fit fine on 7" wheels and offer a bit more wheel/curb protection. They also closer replicate the outer diameter of the original tires. Wait to buy your tires for a few more replies to this post - everyone has a theory on this. More points of view will help you make a better decision.

If you look on tire rack, you can find the size tire and click on specs and it will show you the recomended rim width to use.

On a side not, not to try to hijack your thread, I am getting a set of 17x8 Rota Torques and want to know if I should run 225 45 17 or if I can fit 235 40 17? I tolled the fenders on my girlfriend's 03 Tiburon to fit 235 40 18's with success so if I had to do it on mine I could. What do ya think?

It depends if the car is lowered or not. My car is lowered (2" front/ 1.5" rear) and encountered rubbing problems in the rear with 17x7.5 rims (225/45/17 tires). I had to take off the fender liner and put about -1.0 camber in the rear to fix the rubbing issue.

That's interesting. I have heard of many lowered Subes with the same size that don't have problems. Mine is not lowered, yet, although springs are my next mod. <hijack>Just got confirmation from Cobb that my Access Port should be to my doorstep the first week of March</hijack>
