...cuz i think they would be better looking if the tires were not so thick. did they change the thickness from the 04 to 05 wrx? rims would stand out if the tires were more low profile. what do you think?

 

I liked the rims on the GC8 much better. A cleaner design and half an inch wider. I think the 05 wheels are the same that have always been on the WRX, aren't they?

 

The 05 WRX wheels look much better in person than in pictures. I thought they looked like crap on the Subaru site but after I saw them at the dealer, I changed my mind.

 

I think that if I can get 17s standard on a less than $20K SVT Focus, Mazdaspeed Protege, Golf GTi, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, and Neon SRT-4 I should certainly be able to have them as standard items on my $25K Subaru. Anyone else agree?

And I think the new rims look great in person too. Almost gunmetal in color.

As you can see, there is not only a different color, but a slightly different shape. I really like the new shape, actually.

 

Yeah, and the sideskirts come painted too. Wish my 02's sideskirts were already painted.

 

The 5 spoke 17" Subaru wheels that are optional should be standard. Here is a pick of the wheel. I spent about 1/2 hour looking for them on a car. But, came up with nothing. Hopefully someone can find it and post it.

yea, the 05's are pretty cool for stock, better than 02-04s . . . but a lot of people change their wheels anyways, so its not really a big deal . . .
