Urban Area Tire Question
Hey Guys,
I live in the Bay Area and I'm pretty frusturated. I love my sticky tires (bought a set of 2004 sti wheels with Potenza RE70's) but there's a problem. Having to park in an urban area isn't fun with my car especially when my tires seem to pick up everything they roll over; in my case, this seems to be either nails or metal staples most of the time. When I ran my stock wheels with the crappy re92's in the same area, I didn't experience this problem. Is this due to the fact that the re92 is a "harder" all seasons tire that is meant to resist puncture? Is there something you guys do to prevent this from happening to your own cars on your summer tires? Help me out; I can't afford to buy new tires everytime a nail finds itself in my sidewall.
Thanks,
Ben

stickier tires will tend to pick up more debris, but no tires can resist nails and road hazards, you should buy tires with road hazard warranties.
