tires on a 02-03 wagon
i just bought me 17 x 8 rims +48 offset and i don't what size tires i should get. my car is lowered (nearly but barely tucking w/ stock rims and tires), and i dont have the extra cash to have my fenders rolled. i was either leaning towards 225/40 or 235/40. which one would u guys recommend considering performance and rubbing? btw, its a daily driver. thanks.

Why did you get 8" wide wheels? I ask b/c the wagons lack clearance in the back for wider tires, especially if modifications are not an option. I'd suggest 225/45s or 215/45s. Good luck!
conrad,
there are quite a few posts on what tires/rims fit on 02/03 wag's. i'm suprised you went with the 8's. don't think many have tired it...
with the 17x8 you are gonna need a whole lot of luck if you don't have coilovers and/or rolled fenders and some rear neg camber...unless you had a different offset. then you may get away with struts and springs, but still would more than likely need rolled fenders.
235/40 is what I'm running on my 8's but I don't think they would have fit with normal struts and lowering springs and no rolled fenders.

I am running 17x8 wheels with a 245/40 tire. the fronts fit not problem and dont rub, except under really really tight turns. but just a tiny smidge, hardly noticeable. actually not noticeable unless you now they rub. the back, suprisingly dont rub. alteast they didnt when my struts were ok. my right rear strut blew and now it rubs under hard left cornering. although the left rear is A ok. I have KYB AGX's I have to put in so once I get those in, i'm pretty sure there wont be any rubbing with a setting of 2, 3 or even 4.

What wheels? What offset? What tires? My 225/45 SO-3s w/ Tire Rack sourced SSR Comps (et51 IIRC) used to rub the LR fender when they were new. Pics?
