Question Tire Siping... Pros/Cons?

OK... I just found out about siping tires (making small cuts into the tread to increase performance).

I'm wondering what people think about it here?

I've read all about the benefits, better ytraction, better braking
and longer tread life sound GREAT... but what (if any)
are the drawbacks?

I'm going to get some Continental ContiExtrmeme Contacts and I need to decide if I should get them siped or not?

Thanks.

I recommend strongly against it mainly because it is dividing treadblocks that are manufactured intact for a reason. It indeed will do better in the snow but at what cost? The warranty on the tire will be voided and any liability of the manufacturer if an accident occurs will be lost as well.
