summer/winter tire/wheels for a GC
hey. i am think ing of switching from all seasons (Potenze g009s) to dedicatged summer and winter tires. i know virtually nothing about wheels. car is a 1995 Impreza LX
for the summers i was thinking of the azenis rt615s, in a 17" on what wheels i dont know yet. i would like to run a decent tread size on the car (prolly round 225) but i dont know how that will work on my car since the OEMs are 195s. also i normally slam my car in the summer. i currently have coilovers but am thinking of switchin to springs (like STi ver 5 or prodrive)
for winters i need something that can take some dry pavement but also isnt too bad on snow and ice. i am thinking of using either my stocker wheels (15"s) or getting some RS 6 spokes (16"s)
any and all input is welcome

As far as snow tires go, I'm using Dunlop Winter Sport M3s and they're good so far, I have a friend with a 350Z using Blizzaks, and he likes them a lot. The Blizzaks seem to be some of the most popular snow tires out there.
As far as wheels, if it were me, I would just use the stockers in winter, it actually works to your benefit to have a little bit narrower tire in snow (I use 185 series). For summer, anything goes, I like 17" because you aren't using rubber bands for tires, in the end it comes down to whatever fits into your budget. If you wanted, you could probably get away with M+S all seasons for winter since its AWD, personally I like Falken ZE-512s because they get good traction and they're extremely inexpensive (I usually get them from vulcantire.com)

my main reason for going towards the RS 6 spoke wheels for the winter tires is that my stock 5 spoke 15" wheels are very difficult to get packed snow out off. the 6 spokes are 16" and have alot more open side space to make it easier to push snow / ice out.
i thought about running my all season during the winter since i do alot of dry pavement driving. however for those times i hit snow or ice which is fairly often i want the extra traction.
