STI wheels on a wagon

Will the wheels from an 04/05 STI fit on a 05 wagon without having to roll the fenders?

Thanks.

The 05 STi wheels will not fit your wagon, as they have a 5x114 bolt pattern, and yours is 5x100. Look for some 04's, they will fit on. As for rubbing issues, it depends on the tire size you are using and whether or not you are lowered. The STi's rims have a high offset (53mm), so that's better than most rims for you. If you're running stock suspension with the STi rims and stock RE070's you will be just fine, but once you get into the wider tires and lowering springs, you may run into rubbing. What kind of setup do you want?

ok, so I can get a set of 04 STI wheels with the stock tires, and they will fit with no rubbing, and no need to roll the fenders?

I have a stock suspension right now, and will probably keep it that way for quite some time. I like the ride quality too much.

You should be good to go with that setup! You may also want to look into some Eibach Pro Kit springs or something of the sort if you would like your car lowered a bit. The ride quality is very close to stock, yet it stiffens up the car around corners and subdues body roll. Plus you shouldn't have any rubbing issues with them, either.

What about the prodrive springs? I had them on my last subie, and likee them. Would they work ok with STI wheels?

^^^^ I think eibach makes the prodirve springs, maybe the other way around. You should be ok though.

Yes, Prodrive springs provide even less of a drop than the Pro Kit's while stiffening things up all the way around. If you're going for close to the stock ride height these would work well.

Now I just need to decide whether I want the gold STI wheels, or whether I want some gold ROTA Tarmac II's, or if I wanna do a black theme and do black ROTA's. Hmmm cant decide.

You are deciding between apples and oranges.
Be warned the Rotas may rub on a lowered wagon w/ 225's.
That extra 3mm offset on the STi wheels is crucial for wagons, unless you want to run 215's.

Lunarx makes a good point. They are two completely different rims. I don't wanna tell you the Tarmacs will fit with 225/40(or 45)R17 tire, but I do believe they will. If you are sold on the Tarmac/STi BBS style, I'd try to go with the BBS's. They're lighter and better made. They have a 5mm difference, by the way, from Rota's 48mm to STi's 53mm. You should be able to pick up a decent used set of STi rims for the same price you can pick up the Tarmacs new. If for some reason you want Rota brand, they do make a wagon specific rim, although they only come in the SDR style, and they have a 53mm offset. I myself am running 17"x7.5" Rota SDR's (non wagon specific, with the 48mm offset) on my 03 WRX wagon with a 225/45ZR17 tire dropped on Eibach springs (with no rolled fenders) and I don't have any rubbing issues whatsoever. Once these tires are gone, I'm actually gonna try fitting 235 series tires

I dont know that I will ever lower it though. so would 225's fit ok on the wagon then? If not I could live with 215's

Thanks slvrsubywgn.
I never knew about the 53mm Rota SDR.

My experience was that 50mm resulted in mild rubbing w/ 225's under track driving conditions, even non-lowered.
I had to run lots of neg camber to eliminate the rubbing.
W/ 53mm offset, I ran less neg camber and could fit certian 235's.

I'm running STI's on my 05 wagon. Stock suspension for now. 225's Re070 tires that came w/ the wheels. No rubbing issues at all and those are pretty wide tread tires.
