Careful STiJohn - that tire is incorrectly sized and far below the speed rating required on your STi. There are a lot of folks that get a recommendation on a tire from someone they trust and try to apply it to their own car, but in this case it is largely incorrect. The STi would be dangerous with that tire on it. It wouldn't corner how the suspension is set up to corner and all four would spin on fast takeoffs.
If you're looking for smooth/quiet/long lasting, open your mind to tires like the Conti Extreme Contact, Pirelli P-Zero Nero MS, Michelin Pilot Sport AS, and the Sumitomo HTR+.

The HydroEdge is a T rated tire - basically it is a tire for minivans, sedans & sporty-ish cars. That 225/55/17 tire is for 300Ms & the like. Even mortal WRXs & RSs require V rated tires. I'd imagine that your car requires at least a Z rated tire. I cannot stress the inappropriateness of those tires on a Sti. You bought a performance car because of the way it performes and if start letting you pocket make decisions for you now you will not end up driving the same car. What I am trying to say is that, you now have to buy 91-93 octane gas, & pay more for insurance, & do without a moonroof and heated leather seats & you also have to buy $125 tires that will last you between 15-35k. In the alternative, you could trade in you STi for a new Camry.
